If you're looking for the ultimate Castaway Cay game plan, look no further! On April 7th, we had the most magical, memory-filled day during our Disney Wish cruise—and I'm spilling all the secrets so you can do the same. Here's exactly how we made the most of our day in Disney’s private island paradise!

🕖 1. Start the Day with 7 AM Room Service

We kicked off the morning bright and early with room service delivered at 7:00 AM. A simple continental breakfast (think coffee, pastries, fruit, and cereal) was the perfect fuel to get moving without wasting precious beach time. Bonus? It’s included in your cruise fare!

🛳️ 2. Get in Line Early to Debark (Around 7:45 AM)

We headed to Deck 2 around 7:45 AM to get in line to debark. This was key! The earlier you're off the ship, the better your beach experience. Castaway Cay mornings are pure magic—calm, peaceful, and picture-perfect.

🏖️ 3. Rush to the Family Beach + Grab a Free Wagon

As soon as we were on the island, we made a beeline to the family beach. Along the way, we grabbed a free wagon—a game changer if you have kids or beach bags to tote around. These go fast, so hustle just a little! This will also help you bring everything back to the ship!

🪣 4. Secure Your Spot and Enjoy the Empty Beach

We found the perfect shaded spot and set up camp. The beach was almost completely empty, so we had tons of space to splash, dig, and relax. Seriously, it felt like our own private beach for the first 2 hours or so. Pure bliss.

🛍️ 5. Enjoy the Shops

After some beach time, we strolled over to the Castaway Cay shops for a little browsing. From exclusive merchandise too cute souvenirs, it’s a fun way to soak in the island vibes and maybe grab a keepsake or two.

🍴 6. Head Back to the Ship by Noon for the BEST Lunch

Around 12 PM, we headed back to the Disney Wish. Pro tip: while most guests are still on the island, the buffet at the Marceline Market is a dream. No lines, fresh food, and plenty of seating. It might just be the best lunch you'll have on the ship all week!

🏊 7. Enjoy an Empty Pool Deck!

With the ship still mostly empty, we took full advantage of the quiet pool deck. The kids swam while we lounged and caught a Disney movie on the big screen. And the best part? Riding the AquaMouse with little to no line—yes, you read that right!

Final Thoughts

If you're sailing on the Disney Wish and stopping at Castaway Cay, I highly recommend this itinerary. Starting early and getting back to the ship before the crowds gave us the best of both worlds—a peaceful beach morning AND a relaxing ship afternoon. It was truly the perfect day!
